Broadway Spider-Man announces opening after year of delays

The show, with a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, is scheduled to begin previews at New York�s Foxwoods Theatre on November 14 of this year, with an official opening date of December 21. Taymor will also direct.
Flying and choreography rehearsals for select cast members began on July 19, and the full company (which has yet to be officially announced) will begin rehearsals on August 16.
The Foxwoods Theatre was previously called the Hilton Theatre, and before that The Ford Center for the Performing Arts. The theatre was recently renamed after Foxwoods Resort Casino entered into a multi-year deal with the venue owners
Taking over the role of the super villain The Green Goblin and his alter ego Norman Obsorn will be Patrick Page. Page has previously appeared as Scar in The Lion King, in the title role in How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and as Ebenezer Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. Page will join Jennifer Damiano, who will be playing Mary Jane Watson, and Reeve Carney, who was previously announced to play the roles of Peter Parker and Spider-Man.
The creative team for Spider-Man Turn Off The Dark also includes Daniel Ezralow (Choreography), George Tsypin (Scenic Design), Eiko Ishioka (Costume Design), Donald Holder (Lighting Design), Jonathan Deans (Sound Design) and Teese Gohl (Musical Supervision). Casting is by Telsey + Co. The musical is being produced by Michael Cohl, Jeremiah J. Harris, Hello Entertainment/David Garfinkle, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Land Line Productions, by association with Marvel Entertainment.
