RSC wins tourism award

The gong, presented at the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, comes in the same year as the company�s 50th anniversary and months after it opened the refurbished Royal Shakespeare and Swan Theatres in Stratford-upon-Avon. Previous winners include Manchester United Football Club and the National Trust.
Visit England chairman, Lady Cobham, said: �The Royal Shakespeare Company has helped lead the way in how we think and feel about theatre and is a shining light in English Tourism. We are thrilled to be able to recognise the theatrical joy this much loved and unique English theatre company gives to thousands of people every year.�
