ABTT Training Seminar announced
9th Jul 2012
Venue: Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry
Date: Tuesday 24th July 2012
Time: 1.00pm - 2.00pm
The Association of British Theatre Technicians (ABTT) has developed popular vocational courses designed for off stage technicians. These courses cover stage rigging, electrics and sound and are grouped into Bronze, Silver and Gold levels, which are accredited by The RCS (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) in Glasgow.
We are pleased to announce that technicians can now attempt the new ABTTech (Technician of the Association) qualification by completing a portfolio of evidence, demonstrating how their skills and knowledge are applied in off stage work. Unique to theatre, this NVQ style qualification gives an opportunity for technicians, without previous qualifications, to achieve a recognised qualification.
Candidates who have completed the Bronze and Silver Awards will be able to use their learning towards this qualification. Others will be able to use previous experience and training in the same way.
Companies who take on apprentices can use the Bronze courses and help prepare them towards this new qualification.
Maggie Saxon, Assessor & Verifier and Sebastian Barnes, Assessor will be available with further information and to answer questions.
If you would like to attend please e-mail the office on [email protected]
All welcome - visitors will have an opportunity to ask questions and meet the assessors.
Please report to the Arts Centres Box office on arrival.
