Don't Forget - EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST: CAD, Collaboration and The Cloud
18th Dec 2013
The ABTT
Training and Education Committee is proposing to run a day's AutoCAD workshop
at its Summer School at The Warwick Arts Centre in Coventry on Sunday 27 July
2014. The committee would very much like towelcome expressions of
interest. The day will be open to anyone interested, and an attempt will be
made to address any particular problems you would like to be covered.
CAD,
Collaboration and The Cloud
More
and more of us need to collaborate over distance. The days of dye lining and
the posting of drawings has passed, now drawings and information are emailed
back and forth.
Within
AutoCAD there are tools to allow the sharing of files and common components of
drawings for in house projects.
The
Cloud and other tools offer opportunities to further streamline your projects
and information sharing but how does it work with AutoCAD and similar
programmes? Autodesk 360, not only offers storage space but also Cloud services
that save your hardware as well as encouraging rapid review and editing of
drawings from a central place.
How do
other devices help (or hinder) this process? Smartphones and tablets can now
run CAD lite' programmes so updates can be made in situ and uploaded to the
Cloud.
The workshop
will aim to inform users about these developments and explore potential
applications in the entertainment environment.
